Concept: This modern home on Bozeman’s South side helps bring a variety of form and function to the historic neighborhood. The flat roof mirrors that of the adjacent elementary school. High windows allow for mountain views in the midst of town.

LIVE BIG SMALL LOT

The design challenge was to create a design that worked with a very narrow lot (30′ wide) and provide for views from the property to the mountains. The design captures the views by inverting the living spaces and placing them on the second floor. The house is able to accommodate a family and friends nicely.

Thinktank provided the design fort the All -American Made home the latest project from Anders Lewendahl Construction. The builder concept is to construct the home from “mostly” American made products…a daunting challenge for construction in today’s global economy. This project is our initial foray into the Mod Box concept. The concept is to create a super efficient home with a very efficient footprint. The clients program required some modifications to the floor plan. The project has been a great success by prototyping various building techniques that greatly reduced the overall energy consumption of the home. These systems will be employed in future projects to further the goal of creating sustainable modern architecture.

Urban Renewal & Tax Increment Districts

Thinktank has assisted in the completion of several Urban Renewal Districts in the State. We provide the services necessary to get an Urban Renewal or TIF district started.

Urban Renewal

Many cities link the revitalization of the central business district and reconstruction of residential neighborhoods to urban renewal programs. Over time, urban renewal has evolved into a policy based less on destruction and more on renovation and investment, and today is an integral part of many local governments, often combined with small and big business incentives

Tax Increment District

TIF is a method to use future gains in taxes to finance current improvements (which theoretically will create the conditions for those future gains). When a development or public project is carried out, there is often an increase in the value of surrounding real estate, and perhaps new investment (new or rehabilitated buildings, for example).

Concept: This design is a modern interpretation of the classic farmhouse, utilizing passive solar and energy-efficient design. The house is sited to maximize views of the Absaroka Mountains.
